Metro Radio Hits Awards 2011 which will be held tonight celebrates the radio station’s 20th anniversary, with 130 awards presented every year, the station specially added Metro Hits Honored Singer Awards to be presented to Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng, rewarding their contribution to the music industry.Andy is the record holder among male singers as he won Metro Hits Male Singers Award and Metro Hits Global Singers Award for 8 consecutive years, won more than 100 awards in the past 15 years.
The radio station was set up in 1991, it will add two Honored Singer Awards to be presented to Andy and Sammi in tonight award presentation ceremony. Both had rejected to attend award presentation ceremonies in recent years, but their result in the music industry is for all to see, especially Andy as since 1996, he had won numerous awards in Metro Radio, 8 consecutive Metro Hits Male Singers Award and Metro Hits Global Singers Award, 7 consecutive Metro Hits Asia Singers Award.
